Patient Representative GroupNew members are welcome to join the patient representative group at any time - please leave your name and contact details at reception and we will be in touch... Patient Representative Group ProfileExpressions of interest in forming a patient representative group (PRG) were invited from April 2011. Notices were put on news section of practice website, posters put up in reception area, letters put out on reception desk and screen message put on booking in screen. Additionally in June 2011 text messages were sent (in excess of 2000 messages in total) to all registered patients over the age of 16 and during a two week period in July all patients attending the surgery were asked if they would be interested in joining the PRG. A total of 33 patients indicated that they would be interested in forming a PRG. These patients were then asked to complete a data collection form to help ensure that group was representative of the practice population. Views were then sought as to how the group would function. Agreed that general consensus would dictate how and when information would be exchanged. A number of people expressed a preference for email contact only but the majority wished to meet and again evening meetings had the highest preference. However all are aware that they can ask for items to be raised or pass on suggestions and these will be shared at the next available meeting. Minutes of all meetings and any supporting documentation will be sent to all representatives. It was considered appropriate to undertake our first practice survey during the first three weeks of August 2011 when all patients attending the practice were asked if they could complete and return the forms. Results were then collated, analysed and presented to the PRG in November. It is proposed that survey results and action plan plus minutes of meetings will be made available on this website and also displayed within the practice.
