The surgery has a clinical system (Patient Access) that, through a website, allows patients to easily and quickly view some of the electronic medical information held about them by their GP practice.
The information is easy to navigate and has links to other resources such as patient information leaflets about diseases, tests, investigations, support groups and medications.
There are also links to websites such as NHS Direct Online and Patient.Co.Uk where you can find additional information to help you understand and educate yourself about what you read in your health record.
You will need to be connected to the Internet and have a PC with a web browser such as Internet Explorer (version 6 or later)
You will need to understand what the system does, what your responsibilities are and how your data is stored. An information leaflet has been written with this in mind and you are advised to read this carefully BEFORE applying for online access to your health records.
You will need to sign a consent form and bring with you two forms of identification before you are able to start using the system for viewing medical records even if you are already using patient access to request repeat prescriptions and to book appointments.
Grove Medical Practice
Plan to meet enhanced availability of Patient Online Service
This practice plans to offer the facility for patients to view online, export or print detailed coded information held in their own records with effect from 31 January 2018.
These dates are subject to the necessary NHS GP systems and software being made available to the practice by EMIS (our clinical system provider).
This practice currently offers the facility for patients:
- to book, view, amend, cancel and print appointments online
- to order online, view and print a list of their repeat prescriptions for drugs, medicines or appliances
- to view online, export or print summary information from their record, relating to medications, allergies, adverse reactions and health problems.
The enhanced availability will enable patients to also view online, export or print: test results, detailed coded information from consultations and immunisations in addition to those currently offered. Please note however that at present this will only include entries made from 1 January 2018.
We will publicise and promote our online services to our Practice’s patients through the practice website, posters and the Patient Participation Group. This facility is currently being tested by volunteer patients and will be generally available once the practice is satisfied that the system operates correctly. If you wish to be involved in testing the system please contact reception.
